Angela. It's one thing to be ...Interesting, no? Angela. It's one thing to be a single mom due to divorce but quite another due to choice. But better that than to have an abortion.

Mary, I know many single moms (fewer single dads). The truth is children NEED both a father and mother. Young women who think a baby is just cute, well, they only have half the picture!

Amen, Donna. My sister meets a lot of young women and she always encourages the cohabiting couples to marry and make that commitment to each other and to their children.

Thanks for stopping by Tahereh. So many single parent families - so much pain. God can use us to minister to those in such hard situations.Write2ignitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17266315375662322726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221151616674180073.post-14523289238055386172010-05-13T01:54:20.983-04:002010-05-13T01:54:20.983-04:00I'm not surprised by those statistics. It real...I'm not surprised by those statistics. It really is sad that people don't think through the implications of having children.

There is a reason why it takes two people to make a baby. I do believe that single parents can raise children, but it is FAR harder to do this alone. I never realized how hard it was until I had my own children, but whenever childless single friends (usually women) tell me they want to have children whether or not they get married, I tell them The Truth, whether they want to hear it or not. When you've got a baby who won't stop crying; when you're running a 104 degree temperature and you've got a 6-year-old who's just thrown up; when you're pulling your hair out over a teenager who wants her tongue pierced -- that's when having a partner can make all the difference.Mary Witzlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06458299046574564155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221151616674180073.post-6031121891468920052010-05-12T19:32:21.794-04:002010-05-12T19:32:21.794-04:00W-O-W.
