They have a good back-story but still I felt they could've been more parental, as in thinking about what's best for their children. Oh, that's funny about your DD. Once my kids got to be in 4th or 5th grade they'd say, "don't write about X, ok?" What a far cry from when they were little and loved having their stories told!

You're right that YA wasn't even a category when we were young. But it's been one ever since I've been writing. Bound definitely can be enjoyed by many, even boys :)
Vijayahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07876606729146077830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6221151616674180073.post-85509608623213315222018-10-11T22:02:28.403-04:002018-10-11T22:02:28.403-04:00As the mother of a pianist, I wonder if I'd be...As the mother of a pianist, I wonder if I'd be traumatized by THE LUYCY VARATIONS :)
Long ago DD swore me to never write about her competitions or her pianistic life, and I have kept to that.
As far as your excellent book, BOUND being a YA or "all ages"-- I personally think of YA as an artificial (marketing)category. Readers ages 12-18 already read all literature pertaining to their interests, including the classics. I think it's a book for all ages, with focus on the late teen years.Mirka Breenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00653086859905415156noreply@blogger.com
