September Means School

A little girl inspired me to post this picture. I came across this alligator-turtle on my morning walk. He obviously had to get to the other pond.

We are now in the new school/work routine (doesn't my family look great in their uniforms?), which means I'm writing a whole lot more (in my nightie). Well, revising madly, actually. The last round before I send this puppy out ...  Please tell me I will not turn into a neurotic mess when I enter Queryland.

Here I am reading Faith's manuscript! As I recall, I could not go to bed. It is soooo GOOD!

Here's wishing you all a great September of reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Kids & husband look spiffy. Remember to share here as story goes a-querying, so as to *not* turn into what you fear you might...

It IS a turtle-gator! I showed the picture to Lucy and she proclaimed it "very cool." Reminds me why I once wanted to be a zoologist.
I can't thank you enough for reading my manuscript! I'm glad you liked it, and I can't wait to get revising. Then we can go query-crazy together. :)

So good to see your family. I miss you. I find that getting the kids off to college is very busy too. Jubi and Jess are in college right now. Josiah is moving to Texas next week so my entire family is going to be back together in the same neighborhood for the first time in six years. Jack is in high school... Lots to do all the time.

Yay for books being written in the inbetween spaces.

You have a lovely family. The kids DO look great in their uniforms. Yay for more writing (and mad revising) time!

Mirka, I hope my stay in queryland will be short ...

Faith, all nature studies are wonderful. I had a great time all the time I was a scientist. You get paid to be curious. I also like the writing life. Now we get paid to tell truth and lies :) Yours was esp. compelling. I hope that you will also have a short time in queryland.

Molly, I'm so glad that all the J's will be nearby. Hard to believe how quickly the time flies. I remember when Max and Jack played together pre-kindy.

Thank you, Ruth. Even though today is a holiday, I'm squeezing in some time. Books really are writting in the cracks ...

I remember my sister wearing those round collard shirts! And that turtle, oooo, fearsome looking.

Yay! for queryland in your near future (you'll be FINE!) and Yay! for Faith's ms being so good. Can't wait to read BOTH your books when they're published. :) xoxo

I love the family pictures you post. On a morning walk, at the right time of year, I might see a lot of toads. But turtle gators are something new!

Yes, let's hope for good things this September! This month is always so busy for me with school starting but I'll survive somehow!

Bish, I love those Peter Pan collars, so feminine :)

Amy, thank you! Yes, I am dreaming of having our books rub spines.

Marcia, I love walking in our neighborhood -- the wildlife is so beautiful. I especially love the deer. Of course, coming across wierd creatures is quite fun too.

Christina, teachers are my HEROES. I don't know how you do it all, because lesson planning, grading, and all that interacting is exhausting. I hope you will settle into a great routine where you have a bit of energy left for your own pet projects.
