Although I greatly dislike crowds, I find myself longing to have a passport and be a youth again ... so that I can be in Rio this week with my brothers and sisters in Christ. A great multitude of them!
I never miss a chance to read Pope Francis' daily homilies, and enjoyed his remarks when he arrived. Yes, "children are the apple of our eye" and they are our future. May the light of Christ shine in each and every one of them. I especially liked this photo-essay today. The confessionals are so practical!

Wish I could be there, too. I was at WYD in Toronto (how many years ago was that now?), and it was so inspiring to see the masses of young people rejoicing in their faith.
I have a good (Catholic) friend who is in Rio right now. May good Pope Francis do a lot of good.
Per Pope Francis, our priest this weekend told us to "get out there and make a mess!" The reports from Rio are truly inspirational.
Faith, I looked it up -- 2002! I've said this before, you reflect the Light of Christ.
Mirka, I think it's wonderful it was scheduled in S. America. Is it coincidental that our new Pope comes from that continent? The reports were truly an inspiration.
Gary, his parting homily was so wonderful too. Go out there and make disciples of all nations.
