Wishing you all a safe and happy Independence Day. Here are some quotes to reflect upon life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness compiled by John Clark.
As I was singing America the Beautiful, I couldn't help but think what a beautiful prayer for our country. In these dark times where evil is pronounced as good from the highest court, this false freedom that enslaves us, of lawlessness really, I was struck by these lines: America! America! God mend thine every flaw, Confirm thy soul in self-control, Thy liberty in law!
God bless America!!!
Enjoy these beautiful photos Max took last night.

Wow, Max! The last photo is a combination of glory and impending doom, fitting with the sense of your post.
Happy July 4th to you and yours. I, too, am one who chose to live here and I'm very proud of our country.
How our country needs the Lord right now! Unfortunately, most would rather turn their backs to HIm rather than bow the knee to the Lord Jesus!
That last picture is especially gorgeous!
LOL, Mirka. That's what I thought too. This was the finale and it was so bright, it lit everything up and his settings were for overexposure. But what a cool shot!
Amen, Carol.
