Happy All Hallows' Eve
The Church Militant (we are in a fight against evil here on earth) celebrates the Church Triumphant (the saints in heaven) on Nov. 1st and then prays for the Church Suffering (all souls in purgatory) on Nov 2nd. Our parish has a tradition of having a Solemn High Requiem Mass for All Souls Day with the music by Gabriel Faure.
I lovelovelove the Litany of the Saints. Enjoy!
For those of you who enjoy more modern music, there's Chris Tomlin.
I have many books written by saints and about them. This one is fascinating: The Incorruptibles by Joan Carroll Cruz.
Have a happy and safe Halloween.

Gorgeous. Have a great Halloween too.
Actually this painting feels like a therapeutic antidote to Halloween.
That is a gorgeous painting. Have a good Halloween, Vijaya!
A belated All Saints' Day to you, Vijaya, and a blessed All Souls' Day today! Isn't it comforting to have all the power of the church triumphant behind us?
I'm humming Faure now. :)
Thanks ladies. One of the treasures of the Church is her art!
Mirka, it's too bad how the world has distorted Halloween.
Faith, we do have friends in high places :)

Jane, I'm sure some Catholic art companies have a print for sale. It is one of my favorites.
