Halloween

We have the perfect Halloween cat sunning herself, the witch-child carving her pumpkin and my husband cooking chicken wings on the baby Green Egg. Sigh of contentment.

As you can see I've been playing around quite a bit with all the blog settings. I think I finally have it at a place where I can leave it alone and just use it for sharing my jumbled thoughts and pictures -- I love the new interface because I can select the size!

Isn't this mossy oak tree marvelous? We have lots of squirrels that distract the dog on her walk. I wonder where the pumpkin will drift to ...

And now I must direct all this energy I have towards my book! Not everything has to be in order.

For those of you who are doing Nano -- may your fingers fly across the keyboard. My shiny new idea needs to percolate some more, gain some structure before I begin to write. I wish I could be like the people who can just write without a roadmap, but the one time I did it, I ended up with a mess that I still don't know what to do with. I need to have a solid structure before I write a single word down.

Happy writing, all.

Love it! Love that we are both Southerners now. Wish we were neighbors...

Jess and Jack still carved pumpkins. :)

Is this your new home? It was worth moving for! How lovely to gaze at the pictures, and to see your family.

You did a marvelous job Vijaya! Your "new" blog is beautiful, as is your new home. But what, pray tell, is a Green Egg? (a bar-b-que perhaps?)

Molly, I felt like I was home from Day 1. Love being a Southern gal. Miss you.

Mirka, yes, this is our new home. And it's like a treehouse because we are 15 ft off the ground. We miss our family and friends but we have an entire community that is so much more faith-filled.

Inluv, the mossy oaks were one of the first trees I noticed beside the palmetto. They are both amazing and a haven for squirrels.

Bish, thank you for your help in making my new blog. And you guessed correctly -- the green egg is a barbecue. I was just ho-hum about meat until Michael started cooking on that. Now I'm a total carnivore. Love the flavor of meat when it has that smoke and woodsy smell/taste.

I think the new look is great! (You and I must think alike cause I have to change my blog settings every once in a while, too.)

You should know, I'm drawn to your pics! The pumpkin in the water is fabulous! And your family is so precious!

I am doing NaNo this year, but I'm realistic about the 50000 goal. If I get there - I might have to do a handstand in my front yard. I've NEVER reached the goal for NaNo before. And if I don't get there, at least I got some new words and ideas down on paper!

I hope your new idea percolates quickly and deeply. I am looking forward to hearing all about it!

Love,
your panster friend,
Donna

Donna, thank you. I'm trying to make this my primary site since for the past three years, I only updated the website sporadically. And I feel at a very different phase in my life right now. I'm glad you like the new look of the blog and the pictures. Beauty in all its forms inspires me.

Happy writing, you pantster.

That tree has character!

Oh, yes, Marcia. If only it could tell stories.

Oh, Vijaya. I can tell from your pictures that your new house is amazing. That screened porch is gorgeous! And what a cute little pumpkin carver you have there. :)

Thanks for all your NaNo well wishes. I hope your shiny new idea gains structure very soon. :)

Amy, thanks for the good wishes. We love our new home and that screened porch is large and essential as well. Now we can be *outdoors* without getting eaten alive by the bugs. I'm still scratching my ankles from all the bites. I invested in large cans of bug spray. Yay for pesticides.

What a beautiful child, Vijaya! And we too, have a halloween cat. She's a tortie, also, but with long hair and in just those colors. :)

Mystery, thanks for stopping by and for your compliments. Torties make great Halloween cats. Ours has one green eye and one brown, so she gets her fair share of attention.
