Flooding, Phones and Finishing

You all might have known about the dreadful flooding in SC. We've been unscathed, just watching the levels rise in our yard with high tide since we're right next to the marsh and less than half mile away from the Cooper River. Schools reopened today, though many counties are still not in any shape. Please pray for all the victims.

The kids and I have been monkeying around with my new phone and since I couldn't seem to make any headway with the novel revisions, decided to pull a couple of all-nighters. I've not done this since graduate school. Even when I had newborns, I got a little bit of rest in between all the feedings. So I am happy to report that I am done with this round of revisions on my YA contemporary novel. Of course, the moment I printed it out, I thought about some things I need to add/change/clarify but that will have to wait. I'm taking a week off to clear my head. Then I need to go with a fine-toothed comb and get ready to send it out again. Wish me luck! I'm really hoping I've hit the mark this time.

Glad you all aren't caught up in the flooding. I've seen lots on the news about it, and it's certainly terrible. And look at you w/your all-nighters, lol! Yay for finishing that round!

From your post's title it seems the theme is the sound of the letter F... I was thinking about you and your family all the way on the other side of the continent, where water is scarce.
The good news is that you got a lot done writing-wise. Best of luck, you bet.

Glad you are out of the floods! My sister's house was flooded in Houston earlier this year. That is no fun. i like to read YA novels. :)

Yikes - an all-nighter! I'm lucky if I'm still awake at 10:00 pm most nights, let alone have my brain in writing gear at 2:00 am. Good for you!

So, glad to hear that your migraines no longer hinder your creative writing. Also, glad to hear that you didn't experience any damage during the floods. My front and back yards flooded several times, but water never entered our home. Be blessed.

Molly, I am shocked at how much damage there was in communities just 5 miles away.
Jan, I am typically an afternoon writer, but it's so good being able to FINISH.
Ruby, I was thinking about you ... and glad that your home was safe.
Becky and Claudine, thank you!
